FAQ
Is ultrasound safe?
Ultrasound is the safest imaging modality. Ultrasound uses sound waves to penetrate through tissue and reflect back creating an image, there is no radiation used. Over the last 30 years of widespread universal use of ultrasounds, there has not been a single known case of a miscarriage or abnormality attributed to the use of 2D 3D 4D ultrasounds. Its safety profile has been proven over the decades.
When is the best time for an Ultrasound?
ANYTIME is a good time to see your baby! This all depends on what you are wanting to see, to confirm pregnancy 6 -7 weeks is when ultrasound will be able to show a sac in the uterus. By 8 weeks you can SEE the flicker of your babys heartbeat. At 14 weeks you can HEAR your babys heartbeat and determine the gender! 26-35 weeks is the best time to see your babys facial features. But getting an ultrasound at any amount of weeks is SPECIAL because you are able to view your baby moving around inside you in real time!
Will my insurance cover this type of ultrasound?
We don’t accept insurance as a form of payment due to this being an elective ultrasound. However, I have created an invoice for my clients in the past, who have an FSA(Flexible Spending Account) and they were able to be reimbursed through insurance this way.
